Participant Requirements and Eligibility
Participants must provide their state license information during the registration process to verify eligibility.
Clinicians must complete, in its entirety, EMDR Basic Training, including the 10 hours of required consultation, to participate in any of Kendhal Hart’s advanced training or consultation.
Participants may obtain information on requirements for EMDRIA Basic Training on EMDRIA’s website.
Participants are strictly prohibited from discussing, outside of training sessions, the content of any client examples, demonstrations, as well as audio and video recordings provided by EMDR Training Group. Any breach of confidentiality will result in removal from training without a refund.
Advanced EMDR training should be completed when the participant has an active caseload with which they may apply and hone their new skills. However, this is not a requirement, especially if the participant anticipates having clients soon.

Retreat Cancellation and Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change, and we aim to be as flexible as possible. Below are the details of our cancellation and refund policy for therapist retreats:
60 Days or More Before the Retreat: Cancellations made 60 days or more before the retreat will incur a $250 administrative fee. The remainder of your payment will be refunded.
31-59 Days Before the Retreat: If you cancel between 31 and 59 days before the retreat, you will forfeit 50% of the retreat fee. The remaining 50% will be refunded to you.
30 Days or Less Before the Retreat: No refunds will be issued for cancellations made 30 days or less before the retreat. The full retreat fee will be forfeited.
Event Cancellations
I intend to avoid cancellation or rescheduling any program or event. Unfortunately, circumstances occasionally require me to make changes. Courses with fewer than 20 registrants are subject to cancellation at the trainer's discretion. Due to too few registrations, courses that do not make will be canceled with at least 14 days' notice. However, cancellations due to emergent situations may not be sent with as much notice. Cancellation notices will be sent to registrants via email to the address provided at the time of registration. Participants can receive a full refund of all monies paid or be reassigned to another training date. Kendhal Hart is not responsible or liable for participant expenses due to program cancellation.

Attendance

Details regarding start and stop times for each advanced training session are outlined on the courses page at registration.
Virtual Training Requirements
Virtual training requires participants to be present during the live training hours and participate in all the above requirements. Participants will access the training via the Zoom platform using a computer or other electronic device with full video and audio capabilities and must have a reliable internet connection.
Late Arrival, Early Outs, and Absences Policy
General Policy for 2-3 Day Courses
Participants must attend the full duration of any 2-3 day courses to receive a completion certificate and continuing education (CE) credit. Arriving late or leaving early, resulting in a total absence of more than 2 hours throughout a training session, will be considered incomplete training. Participants who miss more than 2 hours of course content will not receive a completion certificate or continuing education credit.
IFS Foundations Masterclass Specific Policy
The IFS Foundations Masterclass is designed to provide flexible learning through a combination of on-demand content and live sessions, including practicum and case consultation groups. The attendance policy for this course is as follows:
On-Demand Content Completion
Participants are required to complete 100% of the on-demand material available through the Thinkific platform. Progress is tracked automatically, and completion must be verified to qualify for any CE credit.
Live Sessions
The live practicum and consultation groups are integral to the learning experience. While attendance at every session is highly encouraged, I recognize the challenges of scheduling and unforeseen circumstances.
Participants will receive CE credit proportional to their attendance in these live sessions. For example, if a participant misses one practicum or consultation session, they will receive CE credit for the hours they have attended.
CE Certificate Issuance
At the end of the 16-week course, CE certificates will be issued based on the total attendance recorded. This includes full completion of the on-demand content and participation in live sessions as tracked and recorded.
Policy Enforcement
Participants are encouraged to communicate any potential attendance issues as early as possible to facilitate adjustments and ensure they meet the requirements for certification. Failure to meet the outlined criteria will result in a partial CE certificate or no certificate, depending on the extent of the absences and content completion.
Course Participation Requirements
Course Materials
Participants may receive a digital copy of a training manual, PowerPoint, and other supplemental materials through the email used at registration.
Supervised Practicum
Participation, monitored by instructors, in the supervised practicum is a requirement of the advanced training. At no time is a therapist/client relationship established between participants, and content presented or discussed in practicum should remain confidential. Participants may wish to discuss real-life experiences as part of this training program to appreciate the subjective experience of the EMDR protocol as a client would and to provide good training experiences for other participants.
Participants are not required to use personal experiences if doing so would be too triggering and result in unnecessary mental distress. Additionally, participants should understand that case material and content presented, discussed, and viewed as part of an advanced EMDR training may be equally disturbing or triggering. If a participant is concerned about their emotional reaction during practicum, they should notify Kendhal Hart immediately. The participant’s responsibility is to seek and obtain appropriate professional assistance if needed.
Live Demonstrations
Kendhal Hart may use participants on a volunteer basis to demonstrate techniques during training. Such demonstrations are to remain confidential and are not at any time to be considered actual therapy as they are merely for demonstration purposes. Participants acknowledge that at no point will a client-therapist relationship be present or created during these demonstrations.
Evaluations
Participants will be asked to complete evaluations and provide feedback on the quality of instruction, knowledge, and expertise of instructors, the usefulness of the training, and the fulfillment of educational objectives. Kendhal Hart uses this feedback to adjust and improve our overall training.
Timely Completion & Records Requirements
Participant records are maintained for five years from the start date of the training. Kendhal Hart may not reissue certificates after that time.
Enduring Materials
Kendhal Hart is committed to ensuring that the enduring materials provided in live and home study programs are current, accurate, and effective. This policy outlines the process for the systematic review, update, and potential retirement of these materials.
Review and Update Process
Regular Review: I will conduct a thorough review of all enduring materials every two years, or more frequently if significant developments in the field occur. This review will assess the accuracy, relevance, and educational effectiveness of the content.
Continual Education: To maintain the highest standards, I pursue continuing education in my field to ensure all materials reflect the latest research and best practices.
Participant Feedback: After each training session, I collect and analyze participant feedback, which plays a crucial role in identifying areas for improvement. Feedback informs the periodic updates and revisions of the materials.
Audit and Retirement of Materials
Annual Audit: I perform an annual audit of the materials based on usage statistics, participant satisfaction, and the effectiveness of the content.
Retirement: Materials may be retired if they no longer meet the necessary educational standards or have been effectively replaced by more updated resources. Retirement decisions are based on the outcomes of reviews and audits.
Documentation and Compliance
Record Keeping: Records of reviews, updates, audits, and retirement decisions are meticulously maintained for quality assurance and accreditation purposes.
This streamlined approach ensures that Kendhal Hart upholds the educational quality of my home study programs while adapting to new knowledge and participant feedback.
Certainly! Here's a brief policy on maintaining confidentiality and the use of composites in continuing education programs:
Confidentiality and Use of Composite Cases in Continuing Education
1. Confidentiality of Client Information As a presenter or participant in any of my continuing education programs, it is imperative that no client information is disclosed unless informed consent has been properly obtained. All identifiable details must remain confidential to protect client privacy and adhere to ethical standards.
2. Use of Composites To illustrate real-life scenarios while safeguarding confidentiality, composites of client cases are permitted. These composites must be constructed in a manner that they do not resemble any actual persons. This approach allows for valuable educational discussions and role plays without compromising the privacy of any individual.
3. Compliance Participants and presenters must ensure all discussions and materials conform to this policy, maintaining the highest standard of confidentiality and respect for client privacy in all educational activities.
Individual & Group Consultation
Kendhal Hart is an EMDR Approved Consultant and Trainer and IFS certified. Consultation is offered for EMDR and IFS. Your reason for entering consultation directs the type of consultation activities. As you develop, you may choose to change the focus of the consultation.
What the Consultee Can Expect
EMDRIA currently requires 20 hours of consultation (at least 10 hours must be individual consultation) to apply for EMDRIA Certification. I need work samples of all 8 Phases and 3 Prongs of the standard EMDR therapy, and evidence of correcting any concerns before writing a recommendation letter for EMDRIA Certification. When using more than one Approved EMDR Consultant in your journey toward EMDRIA Certification, I require a minimum of 3 hours of individual consultation before considering a recommendation letter for you to submit for EMDRIA Certification.
I encourage you to seek consultation from other consultants if they have a specialty area that fits your needs.
I will document and track our time spent in consultation and retain documentation of our consultation for five years from when our work together concludes. I will write a letter of recommendation or written verification if you have acquired the skills and knowledge base to be Certified and demonstrate this. If the skills and knowledge are not demonstrated, I can provide written documentation of the time spent in consultation, the skills and knowledge acquired and the areas still needing improvement. We will discuss issues as they arise, especially if you have difficulty.
I will keep abreast of current trends and changes in EMDR and trauma treatment.
I will provide consultees with new information and accommodate your needs as long as it stays within the scope of my knowledge.
I will refer you to other consultants if your needs are beyond my scope.
We will schedule our individual appointments as schedules permit. The suggested frequency is at least 1 hour per month.
I will make efforts to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.
Expectations of Consultees:
Consultees must come prepared to present case material.
As much as you can, limit the disclosure of a client’s identifying information.
Consultees should practice within the ethical guidelines of both their license and professional associations. EMDRIA states that if there is no professional association, the APA’s code of ethics will be the standard for all EMDRIA members. Your responsibility is to stay current on both the laws and ethics applicable to them.
EMDRIA Certification:
Examples of your clinical work are essential to the consultation process. You will need to come prepared with near verbatim transcripts for consultation groups or video or audio recordings of your client sessions for individual consultation. You will need to obtain the necessary releases from clients. The verbatim/video/audio must include your words and interventions.
You will need to demonstrate proficiency and fidelity to the standard EMDR therapy and awareness of situations in which modifications to standard EMDR therapy are necessary to safely and effectively treat the client. These demonstrations may include reading and training outside of a consultation.
Consultation versus Supervision
Consultation is not supervision. The consultation focuses on the mastery of standard EMDR therapy and integrating EMDR into your practice. You are responsible for the therapeutic relationship with your clients and competency in the modalities you offer. As a consultant, we do not hold liability for how you practice. If you are seeking consultation toward EMDRIA Certification, we will be evaluating your proficiency and fidelity to the standard EMDR therapy and your awareness of situations in which modifications to standard EMDR therapy are necessary in order to safely and effectively treat the client. Consultation does not substitute for foundational psychotherapy skills. Should concerns in this area become evident, we may require that these concerns be remedied before writing a recommendation for Certification.
Individual & Group Consultation Cancellation Policy
If a consultee cannot attend a scheduled consultation meeting, they are required to provide at least 24 hours’ notice. If a consultee fails to provide 24-hours notice, they will forfeit the prepaid fee. If a consultee schedules a consultation meeting and no-shows the meeting, they will forfeit the prepaid fee. If a consultee cancels a scheduled meeting after payment, they may use the prepaid fee toward the scheduling of another meeting to be scheduled within 30 calendar days or may request a refund less a 10% administrative fee.
